Hardware Networking Setup
You can connect your development computer to the HCC2 three ways: Ethernet LAN, DHCP or static IP, or USB.
We recommend using a computer or laptop with two (2) Ethernet LAN ports.
HCC2 hardware has two (2) Ethernet LAN ports:
- LAN 1 is configured (by default) to get network information (IP Address, routing, DNS) from a DHCP server.
- LAN 2 is configured with a fixed IP address – 192.168.1.41
Although not required, we suggest that your development computer be able to connect to at least one of the LAN ports for testing and debugging purposes.
- Make sure that the LAN ports of your hardware machine are configured in the same segments on each one of the HCC2 ports.
- Configure the two LAN hardware adapters of your development VM. Bridge each VM LAN to the corresponding LAN port of your hardware.
Alternatively, you can assign a single DHCP or static IP address to your physical HCC2. To connect, ensure that your development machine is assigned an IP address that is compatible so that it can co-exist with your HCC2 on the same network.
HCC2 hardware has one USBC port that can be used for a host network connection. If you have a USB connection to the HCC2, you can connect via the IP address indicated in your host connections or Edge Package Manager (EPM).
